‘Everybody’ hints to continue where ‘The Incredible True Story’ left off

Rapper Logic will release his third studio album Everybody on May 5. This is his first project since last July when he released his mixtape, Bobby Tarantino. This album also follows up his sophomore album, The Incredible True Story, a story that embarks on a journey to find planet “paradise,” when Earth is destroyed and the surviving population is forced to find a new home.

Fans believe Logic will continue where he left off with The Incredible True Story. “I don’t think it will be completely different but it’s going to be different. I think it’s going to have references from The Incredible True Story and his first album “Under Pressure,” says hip-hop fan Ronald Rengel. Logic fan Jamia Jones follows Rengel’s statement, saying, “I guess it will come together and follow up The Incredible True Story due to the trailer he released hinting at a continuation from humans finding planet Paradise.”

The trailer he released on March 29, shows a woman, who appears to be a museum tour guide from the future. She is presenting the album’s artwork created by Sam Spratt. Spratt has designed Logic’s previous album artwork. The painting is called “The Plaza,” which the woman, speaking as though she is from the future says was “painted over 300 hundred years ago on planet Earth.”

She continues her tour by saying “back in the day, there were different creeds, nationalities, colors, but it’s all different now.”

Although fans are raving about Logic’s album, the album’s artwork has generated a lot of buzz. “I think it’s dope, I see that he put other artists in the artwork,” said Jamia Jones. The artwork, created by artist Sam Spratt, was based off the “The Wedding at Cana,” a painting by Italian painter Paolo Veronese. The famous painting is found in the Museo Del Louvre in Paris, the largest museum in the world.

The painting by Veronese is based off the biblical story, The Wedding at Cana, found in the Bible in the Book of John, chapter two. The story explains the wedding in Galilee in which Jesus and his disciples were invited to but shortly after they arrived there was no more wine. In the story, Jesus told the servants to “fill the jars with water” and take them to the master of the banquet and when he tasted the water, it became wine.

According to artist Sam Spratt, he was presented the idea of the artwork with a phone call with Logic at three in the morning last summer. “Bro, I’m in Paris. I’m at the Louvre. I know what the next album cover is going to be,” Logic said referring to “The Wedding at Cana” painting.

On Feb 14, Logic posts on Instagram “Saw this in Paris. Very Beautiful. What are some of your favorite pieces of art?”

Virginia artist Tatyana Green comments on Logic’s decision to mimic the famous painting. “I love how he [was] immediately inspired by another artwork.”

The painting notably has 130 people in it and Logic’s purpose was to have a celebration. He wanted everybody that was important to him in the artwork. As soon as Logic saw the painting at the Louvre, he said “this is it.” So Sam Spratt did just that.

Spratt created his own version of the “The Wedding at Cana,” painting 81 figures, including Logic, Logic’s wife, his producer 6ix, Dj Rhetorik, Logic’s dog, himself and many more, taking him six months of research and work. He confessed, “Everything is exactly where it is for a reason.”

The album’s artwork leaves at a cliff-hanger with fans wondering what exactly does rapper Logic want being celebrated in the artwork? Are they celebrating life, is there something more they are celebrating?

These questions will be answered on May 5.
